Triggered to Together
Somatic Self-Regulating Skills to Stay Connected, Calm, and Communicating
Tired of the reactivity that has you, or your partner, shutting down in sulky silence or exploding angrily and losing it!?
Triggers are an inevitable part of life. Yet the way we deal with them (or don’t) can negatively affect our relationships.
Without the skills to meet triggers, our reactivity can quickly derail conversations, destroy the day, or the vacation, and slowly dismantle the sense of “us” in relationships.
The good news? It doesn’t have to be this way.
Gemini Adams, Embodiment Educator and Trauma Recovery Specialist, has helped thousands of students around the world learn to Resource, Regulate, and Respond – to promote calm, connection, and the ability to remain in communication, making it easier to move from Triggered to Together.
Using the Developing Relational and Emotional Wellbeing Model ™ (DREW), her approach combines the theory of neuroscience with somatic practices that target nervous system states, giving you tried-and-tested techniques that can anchor in shared emotional and relational safety, even when it feels impossible, helping you to become present and connected.
“Gemini is an excellent facilitator. She has a deep understanding of the material and her passion for this work really shines through.”– Former Triggered to Together Participant
Want to Learn More Before Registering for the Program?
Start with our Why Functional Freeze, Fawning, and Feigning Can Keep You Stuck After Betrayal webinar with Gemini Adams. This recording offers an opportunity to learn more about functional freeze, fawning, and feigning and how these protective responses can affect connection and communication.
Few of us learned specific skills to regulate our nervous systems and respond to stress or relationship threats in healthy ways from our parents; the result is protective patterns of shutting down, retreating, or exploding, which breach trust and fail to cultivate safety.
Especially when unresolved wounds from the past hijack the present – flooding our adult self with the vulnerability and the emotional unpredictability of our inner child.
No one taught us that bodily sensations are the powerful clues to what’s bubbling beneath the surface – or that we might be numb to our felt sense – yet it’s this interoceptive awareness that is the very key to building trust and becoming relationally safe.

Module 1
* Exploring the felt sense and embodied safety – with a focus on expanding our interoceptive awareness. This is key to noticing the sensations linked to stress and survival states, so you’ll know when you’re moving in the direction of being triggered and can do something about it!
* Identifying behaviors and signs associated with Flight, Fight, Freeze, Fawn and Feign, and trying on the somatic self-regulation skills that effectively de-escalate us from these states. We identify helpful resources that we can use to reduce activation while we are practicing and mastering the somatic skills.
Module 2
* We focus on tracking our reactivity in real time, to notice frequency and intensity, and master the art of recognizing the state we are in through sensation. This gives us the potential to begin to reduce, resource, and regulate.
* We spend the majority of this module embodying the self-regulation skills, until they become second nature. You’ll receive audio-guides so you can work with triggers in real-time, applying the correct self-regulation method with ease, to regulate quickly and get results between the classes.
Module 3
* In the final module, we bring it all together: mastering the art of noticing sensation and state, then applying the appropriate somatic skill – so that we can easily shift gears, developing our ability to Resource, Regulate and Respond so we can communicate calmly and clearly, sustain emotional safety, and invite harmony into our relationships.
What Former Students Say about Triggered to Together?
“It was so valuable to gain the shared language of somatic nervous system regulation together as a couple. We are both regulating ourselves – and each other – much more easily now.”
“The quality of information provided was excellent. A combination of visual learning, expert explanation, hand-outs for self-paced deeper understanding, auditory and video guides for learning the somatic practices that you can access long-term – a very effective teaching approach that captured all learning styles.”
“Utilizing the somatic practices has helped me to downshift my nervous system state quickly. I can return to my Window of Tolerance, and choose to relate from that place: calm, connecting with curiosity, concentration and compassion. It’s helped us a lot.”
“I knew I didn’t feel emotions, but I had no idea that I was in functional freeze due to childhood trauma. This has helped my recovery so much and guided me to the help I need to move out of this chronic trauma response.”
“Incredible. I wish I’d learned all of this back in school.”
